Dear Friends,

Last week I joined the ranks of ReverbNation, a music application linked to Facebook. You can check me out at http://www.reverbnation.com/sethasa.

ReverbNation maintains a series of ranking charts for each genre: 1) Local by Genre, 2) Global by Genre, and 3) Global for All Genres. I chose to place myself in the "Folk" genre, figuring that was closest to my sound.

I began my ReverbNation chart escapade at: 1) 15th, 2) 8615, 3) 267770.

As of today, my ranks are: 1) 1st, 2) 1653, 3) 32444

That's right - in only one week I have moved to the #1 position on the Boise Folk Chart!

Thank-you to everyone who became a fan and made this amazing climb possible!

You can become a fan by visiting http://www.reverbnation.com/sethasa... and while you're signing up for the Fan List, also sign up to be a part of the Street Team and you might win some fun stuff in return for helping promote my music!

ROCK IN, ROCK ON, ROCK OUT!

* * *

Live 35 Coming Soon!

Dear Friends,

On my 35th Birthday, my friends Chris and Stitch backed me up for a high-energy rock set at Terrapin Station in Boise. Most of the material was created by my band with Stitch (Pretty Youth) or solo material meant for my planned "Cult 45" project.

We recorded the birthday show in various formats and I'm happy enough with how they turned out that I'd like to release the live recording. Thus, next month, on Cinco De Mayo, I plan to throw "Live 35" into the CDBaby digital distribution list. So look for the new tracks at CDBaby... or right here on this website!

There are already a few clips from the show posted on the music player at the top of the screen. Look for the tunes "SloMo Mojo (Hey My People)", "At The End", and "Tiger With A Battering Ram".

If you want to catch me playing music in downtown Boise, I play drums for FunkJunkie every Tuesday night at Terrapin Station. I have also be playing the ol' blues flute in some jams recently so don't be surprised if you see that, too, at some point. Until then, I wish you good tidings!

Rock In, Rock On, Rock Out

* * *

2010

Hello Friends!

It's a brand new year and I have fun news, beginning with the show at Terrapin Station. The fine folks there at 16th and Main will welcome us for my 35th Birthday Party on Wednesday, January 6. I'll be joined by Stitch Marker and Chris Cullinan. We'll play songs by Pretty Youth, Semi*Famous, and Hey My People (all my little projects). I hope to have a webcam for the night but I don't know yet.

The next business is Colt 45. No, not the drink. No, not the gun. No, not my song. THE ALBUM. It's coming. Material for Colt 45 will debut at the Birthday Concert.

A family member recently asked me if people would be more likely to celebrate my birthday with me if I didn't play my music at the party. My answer is this: I want to be playing my music on my birthday. If people want to listen, they'll be welcomed with open arms. If they don't want to listen, they will be lovingly missed. I'll be rocking, either way.

My albums and tapes and original music are how I mark my history. This is how I track my life. When people mention 1992, I think of my first multi-tracked project, "Weight of the World" and the bands Farm Dog, Boxcar, Elephant House Party, and Bean Supper. When people mention college, I think of "Walk Without Fear" and "All About Dolls" and "Souvenirs". When asked what I think about, worry about, or love, at any point in my life, one can simply 'compare my dreaming to the reel' for a cryptically-detailed answer, told in music.

When people ask why I use the period mark outside quotation marks or apostrophes, I remind them that this was proper until we invented the printing press and the period block kept breaking off.

The point is, I celebrate my life on my birthday. It many not be my career or my financial "living" but my music is my life. I'll continue to mark my time with my unknown bands and my unheard music. This is me. And in a few days, I'll be 35.

If you're in the Boise area, I hope you will drop by Terrapin Station to celebrate with me!

Rock In, Rock On, Rock Out in 2010

* * *
